Lately, I’ve been having a lot of fun messing around with type. I am slowly beginning to form my own science to well crafted typography pieces. Not to mention polishing my tracing skills in photoshop!
In this particular project, I researched how to say “Thank you” in 13 different languages and drew each phrase in a different style in a rectangle layout.
The actual image is surprisingly small, about 3 x 5in. I took a picture brought it into illustrator and manually traced each phrase – mostly because I wasn’t 100% happy with the weights of the original piece and wanted the freedom to adjust.
Much better. And now, of course, it was time to add colors. I hit up one of my favorite sites, colorhunt.co, to grab some samples and settled on this one…a variation of a colorhunt swatch.
By this point I was feeling pretty excited! I couldn’t step away just yet. So I added even more detail. And there you have it! This design will be posted on my zazzle store in the next couple of weeks. I plan to start a “Gratitude” collection 🙂 So stay tuned for more thanks!
