Aloha! I’m Kaitlin, the artist, designer and depending on the day I sometimes even like to call myself a front-end developer. I was born and raised in upcountry Maui, studied in Los Angeles, CA and now currently reside in Honolulu, HI.
My work is heavily inspired by Tomie Depaola, Hayao Miyazaki from Studio Ghibli, the show Adventure Time, and David Cho as well as the Hawaii life style (this is why all the characters I draw surf). My style is often described as chuckle worthy, colorful, and balanced.
I’m an “Ambi” for ambidextrous because I can write and draw with both hands and because the second definition of the word is “unusually skillful; facile:” – alluding to my interest in visual design and front-end development and user experience and interfaces as a science. I’ve been told that color and code is a peculiar combination of interests and rolled with it.
